Nasal Polyps

People who have nasal polyps suffer from chronic nasal blockage and usually lose their sense of smell. Nasal polyps can be treated by surgical removal, or by medications.

Some people with nasal polyps also suffer from allergic rhinitis. If this is the case, management of the nasal polyps should be about managing the allergic rhinitis. In other patients, the allergic rhinitis is not the major problem. Our Doctors can help decide if it is allergies, or polyps that are your major problem with the help of skin testing. Patients with polyps also frequently suffer from asthma so you may be asked to have a breathing test during your visit as this may change the treatment that the Doctor recommends.
